    Fall Activities in the C-U

Spoiler Alert: Fall is here! And with it comes crisp weather, changing leaves, sweaters,  scarves, mittens, hot cider, pumpkin spiced everything,  Halloween…well, you get it. I would imagine that you have experienced Fall before. But have you experienced it in Champaign? Here are some of the must-see, must-do activities in Champaign-Urbana this Fall. And you better hurry, because winter is coming.

    1. Curtis Orchard (3902 S. Duncan Road, Champaign)

A mainstay of Champaign fall fun, Curtis Orchard is part-orchard, part-store, and all-fun. Grab your Radio Flyer wagon and hit the 20-acre pumpkin to select the perfect gourd to adorn your apartment. Not into decorating squash? Head into the country store for some apples, apple cider, apple butter, and most importantly warm apple doughnuts. Chances are you have seen a corn field, but have you ever played in one? The Corn Maze (which should be called a Maize Maze, am I right?) is your chance to get lost in what east central Illinois living is all about. Perfect for groups or duos, Curtis Orchard tops the list of Fall destinations.

    2. Ragstock (627 S. Wright St, Champaign)

Whether you have the perfect costume in mind, or you’re throwing something together 3 hours before a party, Ragstock has got you covered. With a large selection of complete costumes, costume pieces, and accessories, you’re bound to find the perfect look! Show your JSM VIP Card and receive 10% off regular priced merchandise!

    3.The Quad

I know what you are thinking: "Person who writes this blog, do you really think The Quad is a must see destination? I am there almost every day." I am not talking about looking up from your phone for three minutes while you from Foellinger to the Union, but take some time and really enjoy The Quad. Lay down a blanket, read, do homework, enjoy a warm beverage from Panera. Really take in the fall foliage and beautiful architecture that surrounds you. Take a picture of an orange-leafed tree. If you use the right filter, that is a guaranteed 20 likes on Instagram.

    4. That’s Rentertainment (516 E. John St, Champaign)

BOO! Did I scare you? No? Well then, maybe you should head to That’s Rentertainment to choose from their selection of horror films for something that will really frighten you. Or perhaps, like me, you don’t enjoy being scared, and you should stick with the classic Hocus Pocus

    5.  No. 7 Salon & Spa (700 S. Gregory St, Urbana)

Fall isn’t all fun and games though. It can be a stressful time with exams, projects, and finals looming in the distance. Be sure to “Treat Yo Self” at No. 7 Salon & Spa. Haircuts, color, facials, nails and more! They offer it all. Show your JSM VIP card and receive $5 off a haircut, $10 off any service $55 or more, $5 off any waxing $15 or more, or 15% off retail products!
